Review: Exedy Stage 1 clutch and Fidanza 7lb Flywheel

Question for those with the fidanza flywheel. Has anyone ran into the issue with the outer bolts and welds failing causing the outer ring to separate from the main body?

Just had a problem with my car, thought it was just the starter, but my mechanic told me that the outer ring of my flywheel is shot and the welds broke. He said this is rare and never happens saying the outer ring with the teeth is just used by the starter. I wasn't sure if anyone ran into the same problem or heard anything before about this.

I was running a exedy stage one with this flywheel then upgraded to a spec 2+ with this flywheel.

Hrm that's a little scary to think about. Did the welds fail when starting the car or while driving?

while starting , all was well the night before, moved the car no problems. Went to start it in the morning, almost kicked over, then nothing. just winning and rattling when you stop turning the key. pushed started it and drove it, everything was fine.

I just haven't heard of anything like this from fidanza so i was wondering if anyone else had problems with their flywheel

I personally have never heard of that happening before now.
