Resuming Playback with 2014 CX-5 GT Tech Stereo and other issues

4 days now and my new LG G3 running 4.4.2 is still getting picked up by the NB1. (knocking on metal) 🔨 The record is 5 days from my previous Nexus 4 with 4.4.4.

I'm having the bluetooth module replaced next week. It had to go to the dealer for the serial number to be taken from the current module before the new module could be ordered. It also had a new nav SD card as part of a recall.

Seeing the new systems in 2016 model, the hope of fixing current issues is ZERO.

Was really hoping for a fix or at least a bluetooth replacement so it can start up faster or something... Guess it would never come lol

Never say never, if something is not done by spring 2015, I will start Netbashing every chance I get. I never got what I paid for neither what the frickn salesman said...and I quote, "this is an awesome system, text reading and USB for music from your iPhone.

Hell, I am calling Mazda tomorrow or I am getting a t-shirt and heading for the NAIAS and walking around with it saying. DON'T BUY MAZDA. wooo don't get me started...

Why bother with mp3 rubbish?!

Any one who has ripped out the factory speakers will confirm both the bt audio and usb is rubbish.

Stick with cd and u can't go wrong! Sounds better and plays better.

12 songs on a CD is so 1990 I haven't even loaded all my music on my new G3 phone which has 32GB onboard and a 64GB micro SD. So far, 8GB loaded and about 600 songs, a fraction of my library but all in one device.

Mazda canada replied to my email hinting that there wont be any updates for the usb issue.... Its a closed chapter for me now

Mazda is such NON customer loyal co I have ever dealt with. They could give a crap about its current customers. One day, it will come to bite them in the a$$. No more Mazdas for my whole family...no more.

Go with an aftermarket head unit or get an iPod touch. or upgrade to a new iPhone and put all your music on that. I just did that and so far it has been remembering where I left off via bluetooth.

Same here no issues with my iphone 6 via Bluetooth or cabled. Shuffles and resumes with no issues using the OEM head unit.

How did you get cabled to work? All i get is iPod error, bluetooth works fine though. I have a feeling it has to do with file types and such, thinking about the iPod error. I usually download from beatport.com and use aiff or wav files as they have better sound quality, and maybe the system does not support these files for play back over the system?

I just plugged it in and hit iPod and shuffle on the nb1. I am not sure if the file format is an issue, but if you have an iPhone try opening your music and setting shuffle on the phone before you plug in. One thing I noticed is that although bluetooth streaming works the volume can be erratic between songs. This also happens in my other car so I don't think it's a Mazda specific problem. Another positive with plugging in, is you don't have the bluetooth lag finding the phone and your phone stays charged if your a pandora user as well.

2 weeks now and the NB1 hasn't forgotten my LG G3, text messages come through and music resumes from where it left off ...unbelievable. Took a New phone to get it going. I was lucky enough that my phone was near end of contract otherwise I'd still be upset. The Nexus 4 was dropped by the NB1 every 3-4 start-ups. Before I paired the G3 I did a full reset of the BT, not just a phone delete.

After a lot of frustration with getting "Read Error" on my thumb drive that works fine everywhere else I tried playing music via Bluetooth and my android phone this weekend. While it worked, it seemed the fidelity was much worse than CDs, the radio, or when the USB drive used to work. Has anyone else noticed or experienced this?

Thanks.

My brother-in-law works for a tech co and he said the exact same thing. the BT chip is cheap and old tech. 2.1v

its like going to Big Lots and buying a Cookamonga BT radio, the components are so cheap and dated.

Don't know if this is obvious, but does anyone know where is the BT module located in '14 and how easy is it to get to it?

Not sure if serious?

"Netbashing" ??? LOL, I am sure Mazda is terrified.

Simply, if they wanted to, it would have been fixed by now. Mazda has changed the whole Audio setup to get rid of the issue.

Tis America, freedom of speech and all that rot.
While you're at it EddieFord33, why don't you start a class action lawsuit on this matter?
