resonator cut off??

if i cut out the res. will it trick a cel?? it didnt in my old mazda 6 but that was a v6 i just want lil tone to the car and around here police suckkkkkkkk about after market exhaust so i want it to be stock looking but it shud be fine since i wouldnt be screwing around with the cat right?

well i was going to get the resonator cut off?? but i dont know how many it has or it will trick a check engine light. if anyone knows if it does or not i would love to know lol
