Replacement Tires for 02 P5

I got just under 35K miles on the OE Dunlops. Time for replacement. Yes, I know, I haven't driven the car much.

Are there better (and perhaps) less expensive tires out there?

Interested in same size. Considerations: Long life and quiet ride.

Thanks,

Denny

There are so many better options out there...well anything is better than the OE Dunflops. lol

Check http://www.discounttiredirect.com, http://www.tirerack.com and http://www.1010tires.com

You will notice how your options are limited in the stock 195/50 size, so take a look at either 205/45 or 205/50. Much more options and some at better prices.

I am currently running Kumho AST's in 205/50 and they are ok. Very nice dry and wet grip and decent in light snow. So far they have been wearing evenly...but the verdict isn't in yet on their longevity.

Me too!

I've had Pirelli PZero's on them with happy results and now I am in the market also for tires.

I'm looking at Bridgestone Potenza G009's from Tirerack.com @ $99.00 ea.

I need an High Performance All Season Tire.

Thanks in advance for you reply's.

Search around a little bit...you'll find a wealth of information. onlinetires.com is another good place to look. I don't know how performance oriented you are, but if you are interested you can run 215s, either 40 or 45 series tires. I previously had 205/50s and the difference with 215/40s is night and day...SOOOO MUCH MORE GRIP! FYI, I got my set of Hankook Ventus HRIIs from onlinetires.com for $273 for the set...

215's on the stock rims? I thought 205's were pushing it....do they look stretched?

Maybe a little bit...but they grip like you wouldn't believe. There's another member on here (MonkeyBone?) running 215/45 Dunlop Direzzas...the wheels are a little narrow, but they fit and I've been running them for a while now with no problems. There's not a great selection, but I don't think I will ever go back to 205s...

I have been happy with the Toyo Proxies4 on my P5, stock size and all. They are pretty slick in the wet and the dry, but dont like the ice much.

I got mine from Edge Racing (www.edgeracing.com), but I know that www.tires.com had a pretty good deal on them earlier this month with free shipping...
