Repainting Trim Pieces

Hey guys, I am starting to clean the interior of my car and just make it look better overall. I am starting with the silver trim around the cup holders and shifter because it looks gross. I thought I would just be able to clean it, but when I took it off and started to look at it I noticed there are many scratches so I will have to repaint it. I was thinking a silver plastic spray paint. Has anyone done this before or have any better ideas?

I have already peeled the sticker off because the shift knob has the pattern on it.

One of the trim pieces on the doors for the window controls looks like it has had part of the paint rubbed off so I was planning on doing it there as well depending on how this comes out. (Don't have a picture right now)

look into wrapping them in vinyl as well maybe

Carbon Fiber wrapped? You can get some cheap vinyl at your local O'reileys or online

I do want to keep it as close to the original silver as possible but I think that is a better way to go. Thanks for the ideas, Ill post pictures when I'm done.

Im interested to see how this turns out. I can't find anything to match the silver color on the shelf.

Have you painted this yet?

Ive painted a few interior peices in the past, a couple tips i can share

clean it really really well (dish soap and water) then greese and wax remover (you can get this at an auto body supply store) ive used rubbing alcohol as well (as we use it at work... we do OEM painted parts)
give it a light scuffing with a scuffing pad

grey is fine and what i use (red is more course)

Clean it AGAIN with greese and wax remover (you dont want fish eyes)

use a good adhesion promoter / primer, to help the paint bond to the plastic
then paint and clear as you would paint anything else (use light coats to avoid paint runs)

tip: if you get a run you can sand it out once its dry and spot touch it up
