I'm trying to change the thermostat on my GF's 1990 323. I got the housing off, but the thermostat seems stuck in the engine. Any suggestions on how to get it out?
Also, what is the best way to clean thoroughly the mating surfaces? I scraped off the old gasket with a razor blade, but it still seems somewhat dirty.
