Remote control Battery

Hi all

The battery in one of the remotes for our MAZDA5 is dying. My kids figured out how to take the key into 2 pieces, KEY and ELECTRONICS but where is the battery?

How do we replace it.

Thanks

On the key transmitter there is a indicator light that illuminates to indicate a command using the key.
Battery replacement is a CR1620 or equivalent.

If there is no light indeed your battery is dead. The battery is located on the side of the key which has the buttons. At the end which faced the key side of the unit you will find a tab. Use a small screwdriver to separate the two halfs of the key side with the buttons. Insure the "+" is facing down when changing battery.

If this doesn't work then there is a way to reprogram your key fob and I don't recall the trick but its as easy as opening and closing door 3 times etc and pushing lock button on the unit etc. You can call your dealer for the exact procedure.
