This is just a reminder that Section II, Article 2 of the Mazda Forum Rules & Guidelines dictates that in addition to the signature size limit of 750 pixels wide by 300 pixels high, the total file size of all parts of one's signature combined must not exceed 250KB.
It is very easy to exceed this limit if you have slide shows and/or animated images or video in your signature. Please check the file size of your signature and make sure it is 250KB or less. You should be able to right-click on the item(s) in your signature and view their properties to find out the file size if you do not know off-hand.
While browsing the forums, if you see a signature that you believe may be in violation of the signature rules, please contact an administrator or moderator with a link to that user's profile (or at least the user's name).
While the 300-pixel maximum height has been enforced with regularity, the 250KB file size limit has not seen widespread enforcement. This is about to change since extremely large signatures hinder the browsing experience of forum members, especially those with slower connections. Even people with high-speed connections have had some slowdowns due to the excessive size of some members' signatures.
If you are contacted by a moderator or administrator concerning the size of your signature, please do not take offense or believe you are being singled out. The sheer number of members active on this board make it impossible to instantly enforce every violation of the signature size rules and guidelines -- for the most part, we rely on members reporting violations to us. Contact the moderator or administrator who asked you to edit your signature to fall within the maximum size limits if you have any questions about the rules or do not know why your signature is in violation of them; otherwise please edit your signature to compliance within 48 hours of receiving the violation notice.
