I stopped by Classic Mazda last month while looking for an SUV (which I did end up purchasing elsewhere). I was interested in checking out the Mazdaspeed, and the salesman wanted me to take a test drive, but I didn't have time and had to pass. They still call me and ask about my status and if I am interested in buying. I'm still interested (and also interested in the SRT-4), but I'm still in the process of selling my car, so I'm not ready to buy anything at the moment.
I've also spoken to Felicia at Cory Fairbanks, and they are eager to sell me a MSP as well. They are now quoting $17,200 for a MSP. Only problem is that they have a $799 dealer fee, which is outrageous and complete bulls***. I hate dealers who charge this fee. Some do, some don't, and many of the ones that do, at least keep it between $99-299. Dealer's fees should be illegal!
So, once I sell my car and figure out which car to buy (MSP or SRT-4), I'll most likely use Cory Fairbanks Mazda, unless Tom Bush or Orange Park are willing to beat their price. So far, all the Mazda dealers I've talked to are fairly close in price at the moment. I'm sure if I had the money and was ready to buy, I could get an even better deal. Same goes with the SRT-4. Most dealers I contacted in Florida are charging $2K over MSRP. Sorry, but I refuse to pay MSRP or more. I did find a few selling at MSRP and one that will sell below. So it will eventually come down to figuring out which car I like most.
As for Mazdaspeed dealers, there are numerous dealers in Florida. I contacted most of them when asking for price quotes and seeing what they had in inventory. Check out mazdausa.com to search for a Mazdaspeed dealer if you need another one.
By the way, for those that have purchased MSP's in Florida (at Classic, Cory, or elsewhere), what prices did you pay?
Thanks!
