LOL Probably 3 or something. The T3's are pretty cheap that you can have a few spares. These aren't the most advanced ones but they really suprised me with how well they spooled for a sleeve bearing style turbo.

Yes that is a T3 on a stock mani. Custom's got skills, those are his set up. I was surprised how well he got the external WG to work with the stock mani.

I didn't even catch the EWG on the stock mani. How did he get that to weld on without it leakign later on down the road? They say you can weld a cracked exhuast mani but it will just come back later on.

the stocker is a 2554r, thats as much as I know...I'm not sure what trims in came in specifically, but yea bob is right the upper rpms for such a small turbo at 10psi or more really kick out a lot of heat and put it way past it's efficiency range....that's probably part of the reason why these turbos fail a lot


I had the stocker, the gt2860r (NOT the disco potato, the smaller version), and the .42 trim t3/t4 (thanks to bob)....out of all of them the stocker sucked, the 28 didn't feel much different but it gave noticeable horsepower gains (I probably didn't feel the difference cause I had a lot of downtime between turbos)...and the t3/t4 was amazing...quick spool, good power, and felt great while driving

alas, I'm going to bigger and better things with the build though...gt3076r is in it's future, once I get my beater track car and pick the project up again

I think that's why he replaced it, it was cracked. The spool cracked on him too. I think I finally convinced him to go with a bigger turbo to help keep the mani cooler. Though I know he won't notice a difference I just wanted him to go bigger.

it looked bigger in comparison visually! but the exhaust side of the t3 was obviously MUCH larger and it was WAY noticeable when driving....also the comp housing on the t28 may have been bigger, but the impeller on the t3 was way larger lol
