Does anyone have this in their radiator and if so do you have to flush everything before adding and what are the water to reline ratios? Thanks for any info

This is VERY popular with the FD's but I have yet to use it. People say they "may" get 5 to 10 degrees cooler but other people dont notice any changes. Its really up to your own taste if you want to run it. If there is NO chance of your fluid freezing then run 10% Coolant ALL Watter Wetter and Rest Water.

See if you guys can find Liquid Performance coolant. Its orange, race legal to the best of my knowledge, and has been seen to gain upwards of 15-20 degrees. Usually used in motorcycles, but should also work in cars.

Also...how bout moving this on over to Performance section.

My wrx and IS 300 buddies say I had to put try this stuff. They said there would be a decrease (cooler) on my coolant temperature. During the summer is seem to help a little, since it stays in the 100s here alot. I just poured it and I was on my way. Cost only $10, couldn't really go wrong.;)

a long time ago, the waterwetter formular was blaimed to cause corrosion. It happenned to a guy I know in his Lotus. Redline has then fixed the problem.

Uhh, how can this stuff, or any additive, drop the temp of the coolant? The thermostat keeps it at a predetermined temperature at all times. You may improve heat exchange in the radiator, but the 'stat will just close up a bit to keep the coolant temp constant.

water wetter is a catalyst. It enhances the chemical properties of water and coolant. I've seen two chemicals, safe to the touch seperately, but mix them together and they form an acid strong enough to eat through steel. Just because the thermostat opens at a certain temperature doesn't mean the coolant going through cant be a little cooler. Also, I believe the main property of water wetter is it's ability to help the coolant shed the heat once it's picked it up in the motor.

My SHO is VERY dependent on cool air and water. I run 2 gallons of distilled water and a bottle of WW. I have a lower temp thermostat and the car will now cruise almost a quarter lower on the temp gauge. This really helped out, especially in traffic.

Worth my money.

i dunno, but i put it in my rx7 and you could read a good ten degree difference on the guage, the s*** works

Then the temp drop was still above the temp required to full open the thermostat. Otherwise, the thermostate would have closed enough to restrict water flow. Thus heating up the water enough to fully open the thermostat again. Get my drift?

Tex is right in his thinking, about the thermostat. And like Matty is saying, it increases waters ability to transfer heat from the engine to the water, then form the water through the radiator.

So how much is a new lower temp thermostat?

EDIT: Saw that Linux got the JDM Mazdaspeed thermostat for $75.
