Recommended dealers, around boston?

:
Mazda RX7 '87' & Hyundai Tiburon GT '05'
Can anyone recommend any dealers in the Boston area? Good or bad experiences? Might be looking at a new Mazda in the near future. (RX-8 or MS3)

it's been 6 yrs since i bought my car, and i don't got back to dealers except for warrenty work (not that i had any), sorry i can't help you!

I bought parts from wellesley mazda... seems like a decent place from the service/parts area around back, haha. I was happy with my parts buying experiences there.

I used to get parts from 128 mazda when I lived closer to it... the parts guy was an idiot, but I eventually got the parts I wanted.

One of my buddies just bought a brand new mazda3... I'll ask him where he went. Probably NH somewhere though.

I had a good experience with Ira Mazda with my rx8, but had a pushy guy when testdriving an ms3. Still, worth a visit for sales.

I bought my speed at Ira in Danvers and the sales guy was pretty good and I go to Mazda Gallery in Norwood for service and I really like them. Only 2 experiences I've had.

I still stand behind my review of the service folks at the Mazda Gallery- very professional and helpful. I've taken my MX-5 there twice since I got it and they haven't insulted me by trying to sell me crap I don't need, and got the service I needed done within a day.

I actually bought my MX-5 at Liberty Mazda (formerly 128 Mazda) and wouldn't go back there. I did get the deal I wanted, but that was the only positive I have for them. The sales lady didn't know squat about the NC, and 4 calls immediately after the sale to get the battery cover they took off and a-pillar they scratched replaced went without return. Service after the sale is 0.

I stopped by Ira Mazda during my search, and the guy I spoke with there was very helpful and professional. He seemed to know more about the cars as well. Unfortunately they didn't have the car I wanted so I didn't go w/them.

I've heard positive things about Wellesley Mazda, but don't have any personal experience with them.

Those fuckers at Cape Cod Mazda kicked me out when I went there car shopping!!
All I wanted to know was how much payments might be on a new Mazda3!!
They looked at me like I was from another PLANET!
AND...I had my wife and kids with me in our SUV, but I wanted to estimate a trade-in for my s*** box that was at home. They refused to use an estimate or use the KBB value just for the purpose of the scenario!
At this point, the "salesman" and I went into the managers office. They were ridiculously confrontation and stubborn. I was escorted out from the managers office!!!
(nuts)
I call MNAO and they were like, "sorry all dealerships are independently owned and operated". So I was like, "but you guys gave them these "awards" for Customer Service and whatnot, so you must be collecting info somehow or else all those awards and certificates are BOGUS". They took a complaint from me and sent me to "Friends of Mazda" who sent me to ******* Norwood (MAZDA GALLERY) or some s*** like 80 miles (literally) from here. s*** was not much better there either. I called ahead to ask about what they had. Salesguy said they had a few P5s there. LIE!

When I get there he sez "I'll go out back and bring it around"
Me and the wife and kids wait for over 20 minutes for him to show up. (seriously)
AND he drives around in a brand new 3. I was like "thats great, but I can't afford that, what happened to the one you told me you were getting?"
He sez, (no lie) "Oh, u don't want that one", I almost fell over!
(bang)
I test drive it anyway cuz I'm like WTF, it's here and I luv it. We get back and then he keeps trying to find ways to trim off $$ to get me to bite on the new car but I keep telling him it's not an option that he's not in the right price range. Then we get in to a stare down where I tell him look, I dragged my family out here under false pretenses cuz he told me he had used P5s and he now won't show them 2 me! Manager joins us blah blah I walk out.

0 for 2 (deadhorse

Found a listing for a white P5 at Saturn of Raynham in the Autotrader or somethin'. I call up and they're like, "We just sold/traded it to a wholesaler. Sorry". Later that day, they call back and say, if u want to come see it, we put our deal with the wholesaler on hold. Geez!
So, I Haul everybody all the way back out there again.
What a difference at the Saturn dealer! Much nicer, playroom for the kids, etc..
But they would not budge on the price. Then I had to come back again bcuz it takes like a whole ******* day for them to title or register it or somesuch.

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! I luv my P5! (first)

ALSO:
My sister went into that Cape Cod Lincoln/Merc/Mazda dealer for some repair there and they messed that up, broke some other s*** and tried to charge her for it. She refused and a fight almost broke out (fight)when her boyfriend stepped in.

Never had a chance to use the service dept at Mazda Gallery, the sales people pissed me off when I bought my car and I haven't been back since.

Wow...thanks guys, perhaps better to deal through the web? Any other comments are welcome and appreciated.

Well, you can do what I did... Find 2-3 cars that you would be willing to buy, figure out what you want for your trade and how much to pay for the car, and walk in to each dealership and attempt to attain those targets. I went to Wellesley, they were nice, but gave me $500 less on the trade-in than Ira did. So I bought from Ira.

Since you're not sure what car you want, you want to do some test-drives. You probably don't want to buy on the same day, so it doesn't really matter all that much where you go to test drive. You can entertain the sales staff by getting some basic numbers on the trade or whatever, but don't buy the same day if you don't know which car you want.

Also, when you look up the exact cars online in the inventory, you should also do all the math at home before going in. Figure out the exact options the inventory car has by configuring a new car at Edmunds.com to have the same MSRP. Then you immediately know the invoice cost. For the RX-8, you can probably buy it at invoice cost minus incentives from MazdaUSA.com (and any Edmunds referrals). For the MS3, you probably won't have much luck getting below MSRP.

If you have a trade, figure out the value, write it down (or print out the KBB web page), so you can point at it if they value the car under KBB.

So when you have all the numbers for the exact cars in the inventory, you basically walk in knowing everything and then it's just a matter of getting the sales person to agree with you.

I asked my friend that just bought a mazda3 where he went and he said 128mazda. He didn't seem to have any problems, but he said he went there expecting to buy it and leave, not test drive or look at it... so that might have dictated their attitude...?

He hasn't been back for a service yet, so he couldn't comment on that.

Service Dept at Mazda Gallery is pretty decent. They pester me about the timing belt on the Protege but I don't see that as a bad thing...its a good reminder that it will have to be done 'eventually'. They replaced the clutch on my MS6 after some nudging but considering the amount of people denied that TSB service that says something about Gallery in their effort to please long time customers. I go their for my oil changes to maintain a presence.

However, I would stay away from there until they are done with the 'big move'. I'm not sure what is going on now but at the beginning of the summer they were working out of a trailer in the back because the old building was being demolished. BMW Gallery has a new building and I think Mazda will temporarily move into the old BMW building until a building is built for them at the old Ground Round a mile up the road.

Bought my car and serviced it at mazda gallery....the service advisor whom i dealt with is pretty good, as in professional, treated me with respect (I look younger than my age suggests) and actually response to my email....in my experiance they're more responsive and active at getting back to me on my car's status...my past experiance with lexus of norwood sucks when I had my IS last time...

All warranty work was done without Qs asked, except for my clutch (note below)

I get loaner cars without issues if i have to leave my car for the whole day too..

They would try to get me to do more stuff or buy over-priced stuff, but if i decline, they won't pester me anymore....i bought my cabin filter and air filter online for waaaay less than what they offered....

But like chuyler1 said, i'm dissapointed about mazda gallery on my clutch issue...yes, i called Mazda USA and i felt like talking to a wall...i brought my car in for the 3rd or 4th time (can't recall) for my clutch but was denied.

On a side note, i didn't have good experiance with the gallery group's body shop (mazda gallery recommended me to them when my car had to be repaired)...they never ever reply calls/email...had a uber tough time trying to get my car's status..estimate was 1 week, ended up 5 weeks to replace a bumper...man i was pissed

(Knocks on wood)

The one and only time I had to bring my P5 to the dealer was my own fault (main fuse issue). Like Dan said, when Cape Cod Mazda was here they sucked. I know they overcharged me for the fix. So I'm glad they left because they were idiots as well.

RX-8 just turned 39,000 miles and running perfect.

WOW! I'm impressed I just came back from Wellesley, they were awesome. They treated me a lot of respect & were VERY professional. I was taken back I'm 22 but I look 18, (I'm 5'5" and have a young face)

I told them up front that I wasn't purchasing until Jan/Feb. They had no problem whatsoever answering my questions, no pressure, very relaxed. :) I also learned that my next car will VERY likely be the MS3, Everything the reviews say is true (IMO) very fun to drive. The MZR DISI feels GREAT! Definitely going back there soon for a purchase.
