Recommend an HID Kit

I've owned the Protege 5 for a month and my passenger head light just burned out. I've been reading this forum lately so I caught that they seem to go through bulbs frequently.

Can someone recommend a reasonable HID Kit for our cars? How long do these typically last compared to OEM?

I purchased an HID kit just a few weeks ago. I had two bulbs burn out in about 3 months and found out that it is a known issue with the p5's.... so rather then spend another 20$ a bulb i got an HID kit.

Thats the website of the kit I purchased. Specifically I got the DDM 55watt (upgraded from 35watt) 4300k (color) kit. I'd recommend the 4300k no mater what wattage since that will give you the most usable light. My lights have a tinge of blue when they first turn on, but as soon as they warm up they are as close to white as you can get. The 6000k and higher kits start to become colored, which may look cool, but will give you less usable light on the road.

I've purchased and helped install atleast a dozen aftermarket HID kits and do your own research but trust me when I say that 4300k is the way to go.

Are you a fan of Screwdriver?

Not sure of a brand mine are cheap ones but work great. Haven't installed them in the car yet as they came with 10,000k bulbs which would be much too blue for my liking. I wouldn't go any higher then 6000k. 5000k is pure white (full spectrum of light on the Kelvin Scale) 5500k is pure sunlight.

Techone works great, had it for a year on teh wife's car

have the Apexcone on mine

at least for the next week
