I've just finished putting a new head on a 2.3L engine and have re-assembled the whole thing. I'm not getting any error codes, but something isn't right. The car won't idle at all. It runs and with some throttle work will continue to run, but won't drop down to idle. I've checked and rechecked the connections, and sprayed ether around the engine compartment while it is running to see if there is a vacuum leak. There doesn't seem to be one. Anybody have any ideas on where to start

Sounds like it isn't running very well above idle?
(It runs and with some throttle work will continue to run,)
Does that mean you have to keep working the throttle to keep it running?

How was the engine running before you replaced the head? Did you set the valve timing correctly?

Some more information may help.

either you have a vac leak, or your timing is off most likely.

double check your timing, and spray some WD40 around the vac area's. if u spray near a vac leak, the idle will raise.

this is completley unrelated but what socket do the head bolts take? I know its internal but is it a hex or torx and what size?
