I started having this poping sound come out of my '07 MS3, when I went over small bumps in the road. I had my girlfriend drive the car while I sat in the back and listened for noise.
I found out that on the Passenger Side Rear Wheel Well, that there is a plastic mud gard that extends into the cavity of the well. On the Driver Side Rear Wheel Well, that piece of plastic is not there??? I looked at the screws on the Driver's side, but I did not see any cracked plastic to indicate that it broke off.
I am starting to think that the plastic guard is not spossed to be there, and that Mazda forgot to take it off when they changed over the M3 chasis to a MS3.
Is anyone else missing this piece of plastic on their wheel well?(dunno) You can tell, by looking at both Rear Wheel Wells and spoting any differences in construction.
