Just had both rear wheel bearings replaced on my (daughter's) 2008 CX-9 GT with 73K on the clock. I find this totally unacceptable and blame Ford for the cheap components. Oh and by the way you cannot just replace bearings.....you must replace the entire hub assembly. Otherwise car has been great at carting kiddies all over town and beyond.

How long has it been since you replaced a wheel bearing? Cars stopped coming with serviceable bearings in the 80's. Good luck finding any 2000+ vehicle that doesn't have a sealed hub style bearing.

73k in the salty potholed NE is about what I'd expect.

My left rear went at about 61K and a few days after 5 warranty ended. Dealer replaced part for free but I paid labor. Did not replace right side.

Takehold66,

The same thing happened to my 2007. I had the left side replaced, and now I think it's the right side's turn. Either it's the bearings or my tires. Either way, I'm PARANOID!
