This is weird. Rear floor fan runs after shutting off the ignition. It turns off after a few moments. Is it some type of temp controlled on-off?? Is this normal?

Thanks for all your help. This is a great Mazda forum!

You are new so you don't know about this.
This is a common issue with the fan control relays (2 of them).
Please search for details in other threads (try "fan relay").
Likely yours is out of warranty. You can DIY (relay is about $10-$15 each - get the newly redesigned one)
or bring it to the dealer. Very simple problem to fix.
(pull two relays, push in two new ones)

It will eventually shut off by accessory power delay (30 seconds or less).

I recently had this problem and was ripped off by the dealer. They replaced the relays and charged me $140 (parts & labor). I should have done it myself. Did not know that its a common problem.

Write them a letter and tell them you are going to notify the attorney general about price gouging at their dealership and ask them for a partial refund. Tell them they charged in high excess of the standard labor time for this procedure.

Actually the power of the many helpful members here on the forum. A great bunch!!!

Does anyone know the P/N of the relays??

They are listed somewhere - I believe on this forum. I found them with about 2 minutes of searching...

Thank You. I am going to write a letter immediately and ask them for a partial refund.

Since I hate the response of "search and you'll find them" (since people will now search and find these types of responses), here's the part number for anyone interested. RELAY (G115-67-730) It's blue in color vs the old black one.

DizkoDan, I agree that to a newcomer, it can seem cold. However, I just had a member ask me for technical service bulletin that he supposedly couldn't find anywhere. As it turns out, I went to Google, typed in the word Mazda and then the tsb number and the very first result was a pdf of the bulletin. Not only that but it had been posted numerous times on this forum.

We do try to be welcoming, but sometimes folks will ask for something that is extremely easy to find. Nonetheless, we all apologize for any harshness experienced.

We try to keep this a fun and informative board.
