rear end squeaking?

has anyone encountered this before? I usually reverse park into parking spots so I never noticed it but a few weeks ago I was reversing out of a spot and noticed a minor squeak. I thought it was due to the weather and my car hasn't been moved for a day but the other day I was reversing out of a spot and the squeaking was so loud it turned heads outside. Any idea what could be causing this? It sounds like it could be the rear axel and only squeaks once I let off the break and the car starts to roll. my cx5 has 53k miles on it

break pads are at 50/60% during the last check up which was 3k miles ago. it doesn't sound like its coming from the pads themselves I know what worn down pads sound like. the sound seems to be centered in the rear

I suggest you have the shop where you got your brakes done look at the pads... I've had this happen on other cars where the pads lose their seat on the pistons. This causes vibration/squeaking noise. This remedied by applying a pad seating compound.

Also, don't know what type of pads were installed, but sometimes the semi-metalic pads can squeaks might want to at least rule either of these two out with the shop you had install them.

Oops, just re-read, and noticed the full comment... You still might want to rule out a floating pad though, it's a very easy fix.

I mentioned the calipers, you might have a sticky one. Doesn't hurt to lube the guides and the back of the pads.
