No, MP3's don't have rear door speakers. They do, however, have the space for it as they are common door panels.

this is correct. so if you want to add some and add even more sound it is possible....

yep we got NO speakers in the rear doors, I wish we did though

Personally, I would like to add some tweeters up front on the A pillar. I find that the sound in this car is already extremely 'back heavy'. Some songs that I know really well just don't sound quite right in my car and I think it is just because of too much bass.
I have tried adjusting the settings on the head unit but cannot seem to get it where I like it.

there is no such thing as too much bass :D but yeah im planning on putting tweeters in to but i was going to use the msp mounts.

I dont have rear speakers at all. it sounds great. it should not matter how much bass you have because it is nondirectional. you could have to much bass and over power your mids and highs, but not far as sound stage is concerned. take the rear speakers out (atleast turn them off or way down.) they are supposed to be rear fill.

it takes a little to get use to the speakers only being in the front, but after you get use to it. you wont like systems with alot of noise coming form the rear. you will prob want some good compontents in the front. play with the position of the tweet before you mount it. I have had alot of luck mounting the tweet right by the sail panel. pointing the passenger side at the driver, and the driver side tweet at the passenger.

but rear = bad (some fill is ok, but save the money and dont buy rears or an amp for them... it is way cheaper)

the MSP's have rear speakers also because they cant put in 6x9s on the rear deck because of the sub.

Yeah The ES and the MP3 and the P5 have rear door speaker..

Yes, all three of them have cutouts for 5 1/4" speakers, but only the P5 and MSP actually have speakers installed in the rear doors. The MP3 and the ES do not have rear door speakers installed.

you couldn't add speakers in the rear doors with out adding an amp. a head unit cannot push 6 speakers safely. its ok to add tweeters to a deck because the tweeters do not affect the ohm load like an extra pair of speakers...just thought i would mention that...

why would you want speakers in the rear door? they woudl be horrible for imaging. the only reason for back speakers is rear fill. the p5 has them in the door because there is no rear deck to put speakers in. but if you have sedan dont bother. IMO

the average person doesn't care about imaging moreless even know what it is. i see alot of people come into the shop and they buy new rear speakers without replacing the front because rear 6x9s can be louder than a 6 1/2. imaging is a totally differnt subject...and i went to the IASCA world finals and rarely seen any rear speakers, rear full is not needed.

that is why i dont have rear speakers. it sounds better and saved me money. I took the factory rear speakers out all together. and you are right some people dont know about imaging. and some people dont know that rear speakers suck. so someone has to tell them. everyone has to learn. that is what this site is for. they dont care about imaging because they dont know what it is. they can never knonwbecause the salesmen at the store insist on rear speakers when they know they are not needed. more speakers + more amps = more money for salesman. nuf said.. peace out

So if I go buy a set of 5 1/4 components I can put the 5 1/4 in the rear doors and the tweeters up front on the A pillar? I need somthing to help balance out my JL 15w3.
