Rear Bumper Removal

Hello All,

One of the rear reflective plates within my rear bumper has cracked and requires replacement. The lenz is rear mounted with screws and should be easy to replace but the space is so tight I can't fit a screw driver or any other tool. I'm afaird I may have to remove the whole bumper to access it.

Has anyone taken the rear bumper off before? It looks as though it is simply held in with clips and some simple screws. I was wondering if there is any pitfalls I should be aware of before I attempt this?

Alternatively, has anyone else run into this problem, and if so, how did you replace the lenz short of going to your dealer?

I appreciate any help.

You didn't say why you want to do this yourself? How did it get cracked? If for some reason, it was defective, it might be a warranty repair, in which case, Mazda can fix. Auto accident? Then insurance should help.

On the other hand, if you're a hobbyiest, then the best thing to do, is get yourself a copy of the shop manual and look in there.
