Reactive Cold Air Intake

Hey guys. I need to know how to fix a problem with my Reactive Cold Air Intake. I installed it on Tuesday afternoon, tested it and ran the car for the rest of the night with no problems. Then on the following day, on my way to work, I noticed my engine warning light turned on. Now I've tried to reset my computer by disconnecting the battery and I've also checked the install once more over, but nothing seems to be wrong. At least not that I can see. Have any of you come across this problem before, and if so, what was it and how did you fix it? I'm thinking it's a faulty Temp sensor. I just rather get someone else's opinion instead of going to Mazda for a test and lecture on not modifying a new car. Thanks guys.(bang)

check to make sure your MAF is pointing in the right direction. other than that, dsconnect the battery again and hit the brakes to get rid of any excess battery power stored in your system. has the light come back since the reset?

Yep, I was just gonna suggest what tonk said.

If you did that already, then post pics next.

did you remember to put the iac into the whole on the intake. ive broke this peice before and it makes the light come on

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I tried pressing down on the brake a couple times after disconnecting the battery and it didn't work. I am going to include a few pics of what my install looks like. Excuse the dirty engine, where I live we have a lot of dirty, salty roads. Thanks again guys.

Take a look in the last photo I submitted. It's in the top right corner. I tucked it behind the intake.

I got the same intake w/ no problems.....after I reset my ECU.
you should go back to the stock intake, reset the ECU, then see if you get a CEL again.
If you get another CEL while stock then it's not the intake.

good luck!

Thanks for the advice 808*MP5 but I found out the problem. I needed my car for a weekend trip, so I had to finally take it to Mazda. At least it didn't cost me anything. It was the install, or the intake. Nor what is either sensor. It was the computer. It need a firmware update. Mazda "forgot" to do it last time my car was in for repairs. So it's all fixed. Some of you out there might want to go and get the firmware fix yourself, just incase.

the computer in you car has a "firmware" update that needs to be done. it's just an update. Think of it as installing a "upgrade" like a cold air intake on your car. it helps to fix problems and give you better mileage. but don't do it if you've had your computer modified.

CAI? not a SRI...

Is this really a RACTIVE intake? Because I can only find SRI intakes from them. Where did you purchase this from?

Thanks! Looks good too!

whao really? i have a CAI and header with no CEL for over 2/3000 miles o.O odd - chris

You should really get the code pulled to acurately diagnose the problem.

I already have the problem fixed. No worries guys. Thanks

and it's actually a SRI not a CAI... just Reactive calls it a CAI on the box.
