pimpprotege69, .316 cu ft. they should handl 200-300 watts rms no problem in sealed.

Dam thats perfect, right now im running a Ed 8A sealed .33 cu ft with 350 watts. Question is, which would be better then 8A or the Re8?

I don't think it'll be a huge improvement... if your 8A is okay... keep it.

I'd recommend porting the RE 8s. Roughly .5 cubic feet tuned to 30hz with 3" diameter port... preferably flared.

Also, the XXX 6.5 in the GB is just a pair of the mids, not the component set.

Iamgoody, I'd say somewhere around 200watts would be good. These subs are dual 4ohm though, so look for an amp that puts that power out at 2 or 8ohms.

that i'm not sure of. give them a call. i'd guess that they'd be right around 4".

ditto to what khaosman said. thanks for answering the questions.

GHOSTWHISPER, it's not a group buy for this forum. you have to be a member to soundillusion, so please don't move it. i was just letting people in the audio section know about the group buy, since some are already members over there.

Equal to a W3 huh?
Well for $37, I'll take that bet.

I'm gonna pick up a 10" for my girlfriend aswell. If anyone wants in on the 15% for something else, if you paypal me the cost of it, I will add it to my order and reship it to you when I get it. I am going to order tomarrow so let me know ASAP!

that's the closest sub i would compare it to. the w3v2 will probably get a little louder, but the sound is very similar.

i'm just hoping veterans affairs can get my GI bill paper work handled soon, so i can buy a few extra subs, cause you will not find a better sub for the money.

well if wake said that its comparable to a w3 (higher JL line) than i would suppose its better than a w0 if they both need the amount of power you specified

Just ordered 4 12's yesterday,
Guy on the phone was really cool and helpful and nice as hell, If anyone has doubt as far as the customer service line or these things, then I say go for it because he told me all types of s***.

Now that if anyone wants the 15% off because my order is well over 100 dollars let me know

sweet. they've always had great customer service, as long as someone is in the office to take the call. plus they are very knowledgable there. they build subs right there for RE and a few other companies (through destijl engineering).

badboyeee, i have never been all that impressed with the W0's. they aren't bad subs, but they left a lot to be desired. course for the price, they are pretty good.

got wake? how long would it take you to get to atlanta? :)
wanna get some free beer

it's normally an 8 hour trip. course my buddy and i made it in just over 6 hours when we left at 1 AM, so there was no traffic. i'm hoping to make it up there for the hard drive tour june 10-11. but i think that's the weekend of my sisters wedding(protest) aside from that, my only other plans to head up that way will be for NOPI nationals.

Well there in cali so if they shipped to the west it wouldn't be that far would it?

got wake? damn, I can't wait that long guess I'll havta find someone else to help me hook this stuff up.

Ok, still looking but I think I am going to have to drop a sub :( , and do one sub with 300 watts pushing to it, what scared me is when I told the representative at RE I was going to push 300 watts he was quick to say that the max is rated at 250, but looking at other threads people have been pushing more to these. So what I thought about doing is since these are fairly cheap just go ahead and hook up one at 300w@2ohms and seeing if it pops, then if it doesn't keep it and sell #2. Just wondering if I'd be throwing my money away.

they are quick to tell you that the peak rating is 250 watts to cover their asses. most every decent sub manufacturer underrates the power handling because there are many factors that come into play for the actual power handling. as long as you don't push the sub past it's limits, you'll be fine.
