RE group buy

ordered a pair of RE10's today, if i didnt have a set of a/d/s components sitting here i would have given the RE's a try as well

damnit, anyone want to loan me some money? i just started school, so my money is tied up in tuition and books, until the army tuition assistance kicks in, and i start getting the GI bill. and on top of that my buddy is offering me an alpine IVA-D300 for a price i can't refuse. looks like no group buy for me, unless a armored car crashes in front of my house:(

hey wake. . i wasn't planning on getting in on this buy but one of the VC's on one of my FUBR 10's crapped out today so figured i'd be replacing them with 4 re 8's and porting them to go with my a1800db. sound like a plan?

or would i get more output with using 2 12's

im trying to figure out what to get
any ideas?

3 10's (cool)

Always a good combo in a hatch.

four 8's can do some damage. on my term lab i was doing about 140 dB's with four tang band 8's, which are similar to the RE8's. that equates to about 146-147 dB's on the older mic based meters. they were tuned for daily driving at 33 hz in a 2 cu ft enclosure. but a pair of 12's would have more output, so i'd probably go with them. i just tried the four 8's for s**** and giggles(cool)

hmm. .. .how bout 1st'y's suggestion of 3 10s. ..that would equate to like 2.6 -2.7 ohm load for my amp

how would that compare to the 2 12's

all these subs would be from the re line so i know they will have some decent sq

amp 1800db (1400 @ 1ohm, 1200 @ 2 ohm, 600 @ 1 ohm) all overstated of course

4 8 do look cool and so would 3 10's. .. hmm

lol

I thin 10's since they should allow yoi to make a box that is short enough so that it doesn't take up alot of cargo space, and the hatch cover will still cover everything up.

from just the cone area, the three 10's would be louder than a pair of 12's. the power to each sub would be approx the same, since you'd have to run the pair of 12's to 4 ohms, and the three 10's would be about 2.66 ohms. the trio of 10's would get around 1000 watts, and the pair of 12's would get about 600. output would be very similar, but as 1sty pointed out, the 10's would be easier to work with.

Forge all that, it just looks cool. (rofl2)

lol i didn't listen to either of you guys. . .. while talking to my friend about this stuff we were just shooting around some ideas and he was like. . why not just put 6 8's in there. so that is exactly what i did. . put in my valentines order for myself for 6 re 8's

can't wait till they get in so i can have my whole new setup going on

if i had my next project car -- i would buy -- but i dont know how many subs yet -- im thinking maybe 6 -- hehehe

four 8's can do high 140 dB's on a mic based meter, easily, for daily driving. 6 of them would be even better. i want to put 6 or 8 of my tang band 8's in my buddy's f250 super duty, turbo diesel, quad cab ford. it's already up on 35's, has a super chips programmer, allowing it to white smoke the 35's, so adding a system will make it perfect for spring break(guitar)

I want to replace my 10w0 with a RE10 and a buddy is interested in a couple of RE12's.

So how does this group buy thing work? Just call the guy and do I give him my credit card #? Is it just through one person, or would I be calling a store?

Does it come with original packaging? Do I get warranty?

you'll be calling directly to resonant engineering. let them know its for the soundillusions group buy.

yes it comes in the brand new packaging and yes you get a warranty.

THink of it like buying directly from alpine or Jl audio. In this circumstance you are calling the corperate office and ordering a product.

well... there goes the low keyness of this company... i wonder if anyone would like to buy my HC for $250 1200w rms. now... what's the next up and coming underground audio company... i think i'll have to go with an incriminator audio death penalty.

incriminator audio is more SPL oriented, from what i've heard. can't say i've heard one yet, but i heard the SQ isn't all that great.

Got my order in yesterday for (5) RE10, (2) RE8 and 1 Component set. Cant wait to hear it all.
