I am pissed. After typing up my message about tiny paint chips coming off my wheel it just seems so miniscule. I reluctantly went to a bar after work for a few beers and a few games of darts. When I parked at the bar, I parked at one of those spaces that had a curb on one side. I figured I'd get closer to the curb, but far away from others for door dings. There was some snow accumulating here in Madison, and I scraped the hell out of my right front rim. There is a long scratch right next to the tire extending about 1/8th of the wheel. I did the same thing last year, but its hardly noticable (about a inch long). So now my rim has two scratches on it (thankfully just the one rim since I rotated my tires)....
I'm wondering what I should do. Should i just forget about it since its not terribly noticeable (to me its horrible of course)? Should I get it refinished? Should I buy a new rim?
I'm worried about paint further coming off since the finish is ruined on that portion. How much does it typically cost to get a rim refinished? How is the quality of such a job? Do I need paint codes from Racing Hart to match the others? Otherwise, how much is a new rim? I suppose if I buy a new one, I get a full size spare...
Help guys! I need you!
