mazda3 5 door
was going through the TSB's for our cars and found a new one about the door rattles, after reading the PDF it wouldn't be that hard for one of us to do, especially if you are like me and have already been inside the door for speaker/sound deadening work and they prob won't cover that under warrenty. anyways i would strongly suggest you check this out.... it does look promising and makes sense believe it or not...

Yeah, did that last year... that darn clip is rather annoying. I'm happy it was pretty simple to fix.

I suggest doing the door rattle fix yourself. You drive the car and know what exactly to listen for over particular roads you drive. Chances are pretty good you'd take it in for a fix and they'd drive it a few miles around the dealership and not hear what you hear.

I took the door panel off and was able to locate the source of each rattle. I drove on the roughest roads I could find and after a few tweaks with a screw driver and duct tape, I was able to silence all rattles in my passenger door.

The rattles weren't coming from the clips, but rather the plastic inner panel. I discovered this as I didn't even have the door panel in my car as I was driving and I heard the same rattles. So, I was able to tweak the screws as I drove to eliminate the rattles. I also taped down the door clock cable which was producing a rattle as it vibrating against the door interior.

I recently "fixed" the rattle in my glovebox, too. Yeah, I could have taken it in to have the replace it with the TSB, but I didn't have the patience for that. I came to the conclusion that the rattle was coming from the hinge area, so I simply wrapped some duct tape around the hinge where the door connects which made it a snug fit, hence eliminating the rattle.
