Rate Mr. Clean AutoDry

Hey Forum:
Just got a Mr. Clean AutoDry Starter Kit and I tried it...

Good
1) Really works and leaves a Spot-Free Shine
2) Easy to use no BIG Water mess nor Soap

Bad
1) When it rains after the wash (its almost a sure thing here in PR) the dirt and debree seems to adhere more noticeable to the car. It also leaves the glass very foggy and dirty. This hasn't happened before with regular soap and water nor wax. Maybe it is the Concentrated soap that comes with the kit.
2) GUESSing HERE: You can only use the Concentrated Mr. Clean Soap. No other soap might work.
3) Not for DEEP detailing the car. For all of us freaks.

I haven't had any problems with the windows, I've heard other people do but I just make sure to give them a really really good spray with the autodry.

I think it's fine for even deep detailing. I just wash it down with Mr. Clean and then go to work with detail spray and stuff. With a regular wash you'd end up drying it and THEN going over it with detail spray anyway....so might as well save the effort.

Yep love the stuff, and you could use normal soap but think you may want to water it down more.
It also does a great job on the rims if you pour the soap in a bucket and use a rag, gets them shiney and seems to keep brake dust off.

I just got that a couple weeks ago because a friend recommended it.

The first time I used it I didn't like soap. It doesnt foam very well like my carwash 3000(or 2000 or wahtever) stuff from costco. And the deionizing agent works ok...it doesn't save anytime.

I decided to give it another chance...and came to the same conclusion...only this time the deionizing agent didn't work well at all. It was a bit overcast and I'm thinking the auto dry is effected a bit by the atmosphere. Anyway..save yourself the time and money and just buy a simple shamy.

Used it for 5 months, and over time I started to dislike it. It worked great for me at first, and I bought several filter and soap refills before I started to dislike the build-up of the minerals that the filter is supposed to flush out on the rinse cycle.

good but kind of pain in the ass, and can get preaaty expensive...

Plus for me it's only the summer thing. I can't wash my car myself in winter

i think it sucks... bought it once and gave it to my mother. Eats away the wax job. And over priced, id rather just take two hours to clean the car.

I do love the gun though, and yes it gets pricey over time with changing the filter every 7 or 8 times. That shouldn't be a problem for most people, but we all seem enjoy cleaning the car every week!

I've yet to try it, though I admit I've enjoyed reading what other people think about it in forums. What works really well for me to reduce the amount of drying needed after washing for the final rinse is this: Take the nozzle off the hoze when you're ready for your final rinse and then direct the water onto your finish from top to bottom in a way that sheets off most of the water. I was amazed at how will this works. If done right most of the larger panels will be free of water drops. For the sections that are left I like to dab things up with waffle weave microfiber towels.

Ok this is obvious and you all probably know this already but just in case not...don't wash/dry your car in the sun if you don't like water spots.
