Radio stays on when ignition is turned off

I have a 2 yr old GT CX7 with tech package. Over the last week I have noticed that when I park and turn my ignition switch off, the radio keeps playing for 8 seconds or so, as well as the dashboard climate control display. If I open the door during this time I hear beeps as if I had left the lights on. After 8-10 seconds they go off. This is new behavior - anyone else seen something like this? I did a search but didn't see anything.

First they thought that the RKE causes the problem but then they said it was the power AC inverter I was using for my laptop. They reset the whole system and since then I didn't experience the same problem but I didn't use the inverter too

Thank you for this informative reply - this was EXACTLY the cause. I had forgotten my daughter had connected a power inverter a week ago - and after reading the pdf you referenced I remembered and removed it. The problem went away! Good job!

Im getting the same problem with my speed3, it used a inverter today, and this problem happened when I got home. So im guessing its not just the cx7

I just picked up a used 06 Mazda5 and I'm having the same problem. I'll have to unplug my inverter to see if that fixes it. I never noticed the problem in my 07 Speed3 when I used an inverter in it.
