Quick into - Ive had many Miata and Z cars, now with kids Im giving the 3 hatch a try. So far so good, it handles the corners well and while I aint gonna win any races, Im still figuing out the auto/manual and its fun to drive.
My first mod is installing a Beltronics RX65 Radar dectector. The only good semi permanent location was the above the mirror. I looked everwhere and could not buy a mount I liked so I eneded making one. I took about 3 hours to make and install.

I used a stainless steel handle from a spatula, Bent, Cut and drilled it. I used a self tapping screw to mount it the the mirror lost holder.
Wiring was pretty easy, I removed the maplight lenses, removed the maplight assembly, removed the Visor. Then used a coat hanger to fish the power wires to piller down to the fusebox. Im going to buy some Mini Fuse taps to supply (Key On) power.
