Ractive Short Ram

Well, KYMP5 set me up with a Ractive Short Ram air intake.

Looking forward to ripping all of the plastic intake crap that Mazda put into our cars to feed the engine air. Don't understand what the designers were thinking! Talk about restricting air intake! Yikes! I bet there is twenty pounds of plastic associated with the air intake system alone!

I am thinking that opening up the air intake by removing all of that crap should give me a noticable horse power increase.

Anyone have any actual dyno numbers after they installed a short ram intake?

I doubt you will see much of a increase if any. The intake plumbling brings in fresh cool air where it is located.

You will probably get a cool sucking sound though.

with the an axle back and the ractive intake i saw 12 hp at the wheels on a mustang dyno

yep maybe 2whp at peak. not much. but i liked my injen a LOT better than stock air box crap.
