Ractive intake is rubbing my brake resorvoir !!

Hey everyone.......I just intalled my ractive intake about 2 weeks ago.....Everything is fine....But its just rubbing againest my brake resorvoir medal which causes my brake and gas pedal to shake. But I put a piece of sticky rubber between it which causes the sound and the vibration to stop. But I just took a look under my hood, the rubber is wearing out....haha..... NOT GOOD !!
I tried everything.....Resetting the ECU....and adjusting it......
about the adjusting part....I just can't see to readjust it anymore....everything is too tight in together....
WHAT SHOULD I DO ??!!!! HELP !!!!!

ive got the AEM short ram and it almost rubbed a hole in my pipe!!!! i adjusted at my work yesterday and it isnt rubbing anymore so i hope ill be fine..

Take a piece of rubber tubing that is about the same size as the intake and cut a small piece about an inch wide that you will be able to slip over the intake and up to where it will sit between the tube and the resorvoir. The MHP intake actually comes with a piece like that to prevent this problem.

hole

It is funny that this post came up because i went to make a custom CA on sat and noticed that the short ram i had in there had a hole worn in it. it is amazing. i changed my oil and said a prayer. I am not super concered if the engine dies i will bring it in on waranty. i will talk to my buddy who works at the dealership to look the other way on the mods.
:p

Hey NC_MP3

By putting a piece of tubbing between the gap....won't that just cause the intake to adjust itself by using force ?? And will it hurt the brake resorvoir ??

No, it should just cushion the intake. Like I said the MHP has this and it hasn't been a problem for me.

Well, i like my Injen intake now that i finally have it. I should've gotten the AEM intake but what made u want a Ractive intake? Not that they make bad products because they dont but i just find that different. Different is good though. Tough it out.:D

I also have the problem with the ractive intake. What I did was wrapped a bicycle tire around the intake about 3 times. This definatly stopped it alot. That was about 2 months ago

Well guys...guess what.......I just open up my hood today....and I found out my rubber tubbing is gone....haha....must of fell off when I was driving or something.......s***.....
how come it didn't hold ??

ISSUE SOLVED

HERE'S YOUR SOLUTION:

I used 7 things to solve this problem:

- 1 Bracket that came with the kit
- 1 Clamp that came with the kit
- 2 OEM washer-bolts (from disassembling the stock intake)
- 1 rubber bushing (from disassembling the O2 sensor)
- 1 Drill and drill bit
- and a little imagination ... ;)

This modified bracket basically holds the intake at a different position than if it was installed in another way. the result is more room in between the intake and the power steering thing. went driving on the highway, downtown (Toronto), local streets and racing ..... and it's still on tight.

Here's the post i put up (includes pictures):

Good Luck!!

Everything is fine EXCEPT for.....

Everthing is alright after I installed my MHP CAI, except the car keeps on making a ticking noise. And I'm scared that water might find its way into my intake. I'm thinking about sealing (but not all) the open pours that is out and around my filter.

At first I was afraid to put more force on the gas peddle because it shook everytime I touched it. But after I took a 350 mile trip the car the shaking was gone.

Lets hope that my filter doesn't rip open because it feels like the filter is rubbing against something.
Does anyone know or have any ideas to helping me with this rubbing of the filter?
