does anyone have the protege5 racing beat exhaust...it looks tempting, a full catback for under $500. i was wondering, does the tip say racing beat on the side or is it just plain?

The P5 version I have says 'Racing Beat Anaheim, CA' on the side closest to the side of the car. The other side of the tip is blank.

I think I might have a pic.

Rishie over at ARD was doing a deal for $430 shipped a while back. Give him a shout and maybe he'll still honour it!

doesnt look bad at all, kinda stock like so its not so noticeable like some others. id like to know what it sounds like as well.

I like the sound of mine as well. It not too loud and does not get boomy at highway speeds.

it's dead silent all the way up till 75. then the combo of intake and exhaust gets a little drony from 85 on. going around town, you can't really hear it inside the cabin. my friend driving in back of me said you can definitely hear the growl from behind upon accleration. when you first get on it and (if you have an intake) your intake hasn't started its growl yet, you can hear a nice deep rumble from the exhaust for a brief moment. it sounds sweet. the beauty of this exhaust is that it gives close to 5whp gains but is subtle enough that it's not obnoxiously big nor obnoxiously loud. combine that with every day drivability (no droning on your way to work unless you're hauling ass at 85) and it's a winner!

i'm not sure it "improves performance a lot". it might give you some gains at higher rpms. i bought it for the look and sound, the stock muffler just bites!!

for the most part a when u look for a muffler/exhaust the most u will be looking into is what it looks like and what it sounds like cause u arent gonna get very many gains from it.
