ok well i was with my friend and i was stopped at a light behind this old 5.0 mustang lx. it def had something done to it. at least exhaust but anyway. the light went green and i drove around so i was next to him. he floored and sound did i i was pulling easily away from him buti slowed down at 60.(ill race anyone as long as i dont go over the speed limit:D )
tthen at the next light. an integra pulls behind me. im first car in line so i get on it. hes right on my ass so i build on some boost and floor it. i was pulling away then again slowed down. i drove next to him and i asked what he had. integra gsr with intake, header, exhaust. not bad for only 3.5 psi. i was happy then drove home.

well as long as i dont bring the rpms up too high, the launch isnt so bad. but u will have alot of wheel hop is u do bring them up. im not sure if i could take a mustang (im assuming u meant a gt)
right now. but other people have. i have to turn the boost up a tad.

what level of boost are u running...and u should get the awr motor mounts...my car used to have some pretty bad wheel hop before stock...not that its boosted..its funny because I launch at jst past 2k and I have none

Mustangs launch pretty good. My 91 gt would do 2.1 60 footers. They aren't the quickest car, and i find them harder to drive then say my sentra. Wheel spin is really easy. I got a 2.1 once i actually almost stalled. My sentra gets 2.2's all stock.

before 87 they were pretty slow without mods. Its pretty hard to find a mustang that doesnt at least have an exhaust. 87-93 stock GT will do about 14.8@93ish the LX's are the ones to be careful about, lighter and more aerodynamic. They can do low 14's stock. 96-99 are suck. They have a 4.6 which has ohc and doesn't rev, it has a long stroke with no torque... its a marvel of technology.

us old crx drivers were amazed that the gts got so much slower with the 4.6 liter engines...we used to look out for the 5.0 lxs as we knew their potential

Ford finally remedied the problems (low hp and such) of the 4.6L modular engine(s) like a year or two ago. pretty ridiculous if you ask me tha tit took them more than 2 years to get what they had out of the old 5L engine. The continued to use that engine (and i think still do) down under in the Falcon (RWD). Of course, the basic modular design is okay actually as its the basis for many other Ford/Jaguar/Lincoln, etc.. modular V8 engines. Albeit with VERY different heads and internals....and displacement, etc... But the overall design is there.
