race fuel?

ok, so I was just wandering. I have seen several ppl here talking about using higher octane gas.. 104, 110, etc. can you just do that? I mean, can I go to a speed shop and buy some 104 and put it in my car? no problems? someone explain for me.. and what are the advantages of doing so

no. put the crack pipe down. you don't need to kill the car.

besides its not good to mix fuels... they never really mix completely, and you may be sucking in the 110, then hit a bit of the 87 octane, and break somthing.

why would you want to run 104 or 110 anyway? you would only need that if you had like 20 psi then you would have lots of other things to worry about *cough* rods

just make sure you're buying unleaded race fuel as most race fuel has lead in it - ie you'll kill your cat converter in no time.

I have 112 leaded fuel in my car right now. Never got to use it because I snapped an axle. Sometimes I go out and start the car just to smell it. Damn it smells so good.

Unless you have an aftermarket fuel map, your fuel map is not designed for race gas so the only reason to use it would be for turning up the boost...

you dont gain hp from 104 fuel, as stated above main thing it would do for us is allow us to run more boost without detonation but dont go runnin 20 something or even 20psi.

Usually fuels this high are leaded...
