Race a Integra GSR last night.

woah.. getting this thread on topic. Yes your car should have lost top end. VTEC owns all up top... EVen though you make similar peak hp, he pulls longer up top, keeping him in the power band longer. Once you get a gauge, dont just up the boost without one, turn it up to about 9.5-10 and race him again. Then get a catback exhaust, and you'll pull even harder. Dont get the intake until you free up the exhaust. Thats what all my car buddies say, and they do know what they are talking about.

yep, the GSR puts around the same HP rating as the MSP and also weighs slightly less. combine the mods with the GSR engine vs. your stock (assuming that it is) MSP and results should be clear.

the advantage you have though is when upgrading it only takes a few parts and more boost to get a lot more power then he can achieve with the NA setup.

my 92 GSR with the smaller B17A motor rated at only 160 HP and 118 tq makes now 165 whp (with just i/h/e/Type R cams/gears), 118 wtq, weighs 2300 lns and runs 14.3 sec and handles better than the MSP!
I love the MSP for everyday driving though for its torque.

hey, here's the deal, you actually would have beat him depending on the track you were racing on, if you were racing on a track.
You said he passed u at 95 mph.
well, actually probably on both 1/8 mile and quarter mile you would have beaten him. I dont remember what the mph was for the stock msp to run on quarter mile.
but lets say if you were on a 1/8 mile track u definatelly would have won, and quarter mile it woulda been a close pull.

Damn, this is hilarious. I cannot believe you still post here when you have no credibility what-so-ever. Did you ever come up with those slips rice boi? Everyone here knows you are a joke moron

Actually, everyone here thinks you are a dipshit for threadjacking and trolling. Get back on subject.

It was like 90 mph. 89.4 or something.

So being that you have 165 to the wheels with such a light weight car and u say it handles better than the MSP. Say you were to put stiffer Springs on the Front and Rear of the MSP.... I'm not to sure on what the Spring Rate is but It seems like it needs some Stiffer Springs or even a bigger sway bar for the rear. Driving through the mountains it seems like it wants to push a lot. Also add a cai, change downpipe to exhaust, Front Mount Intercooler and Fuel Management. Without raising the Boost wouldn't these mods make it better and faster than the civic for daily driving, handling?

When did this become about beating civics? lol, I do that with no boost. :D

Hehe, I don't know. =) This Gentlemen decided to mention that his civic runs 14.3 sec in a 1/4 mile. Anyways, thank you for your info and has anyone raced a S2000 through a track or even 1/4 mile?

Civic GSR? That's a new one

Both cars can be a lot of fun and fast. I just don't like people bashing Hondas. They are very tuner friendly and can go fast with simple bolt ons.
I am also the same way when people bash my MSP :)
