Spicy Orange MSP #1287
I have my MSP lowered as far as I could get it with my SKUNK2 coilovers, but the dumbass I am, I forgot to measure the height of the car stock. People ask me how much lower it is, and I don't know what to tell them...If someone knows off hand, or can run out to their MSP(stock heighth of course) and give me a measurement from the center of the fenders(front & rear) to the ground I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS!!!

I'm used to a lowered car as it is, so I didn't notice a big difference in over-all ride quality, but the MSP does not like pot holes!! Even the slightest uneven seam in the road feels like I am being punched in the stomach. I don't know, you just have to sacrifice for the ones you love ; )

lowering it would only F-up the suspension IMO. did you sacrafice handleing performance or gain any?
I dont know much about lowering cars so I'd like some people opinions please. cause it does look nice a little lower :)

great to see someone with some initiative to lower their msp. Im dying to do mine but I think i might just have to go for some springs due to a weak bank acount :-( How much did those skunk2s cost you? Whered you get them? Did you pay to have them installed? Hah sorry bout all the q's, just excited to see a dropped msp. Thanks man, looks awesome.

I asked for MSP coilovers, and the guy said he had some for an MP3. The box just said 02+ Protege though, so I think he was bullshitting. They fit though, and I don't have any noise from them. My Civic still corners better, because it has a lower center of gravity(and all the strut bars), but the Mazda isn't far behind. I paid $323 out-the-door, and installed them myself...I do all my own work so it was nothing new. It took about 3 1/2 hours. So, since it sound like I might be one of the only people here with a lowered MSP, can one of you give me the stock height please?? From the center of the fender opening to the ground...thanks.

I'm glad you guys and girls like it, but please...all i need is a a measurement...

that is SICK! I love it.
I knew all the MSP was missing was a nice drop. That's perfect.
Anyway, i'm not sure if this will help. But i remember that the ground clearance in 5.5".
Anyway, got more pictures to share with us??

Look at the pic I added...this is the measurement I'm looking for. I don't have any new pics yet, but as soon as I get the digital camera back, I'll get some with the MSP next to my Civic.

Umm...it could be, but mine measure 23 3/4" in front and 23 1/2" in the rear. It just looks a lot lower than a 1 3/4" or 1 1/2" drop. What do you uys think?? Does it look like about right??Thanks for taking the time though, I appreciate it.

there wasnt a whole lot of room to drop it anyways... but most lowered cars are abou that, i think anything lover would not only hinder ride but it would almost be impossible with clearence.

But that's the thing...The tires are tucked under the fenders, which is hard to do on a lot of cars without rubbing, but I've got tons of clearance still. The car has been lowered for a month, and I haven't scraped or hit anything. That was a daily occurance with my Civic.

maybe it hasnt settled all the way yet... i was told that lowered cars settle like a quarter of an inch or so, with springs at least perhaps thisis different with coilovers
