so to my understanding, the exhaust flow goes like this, right?
headers, then downpipe with first cat, then midpipe with second cat, then catback exhaust...

so if got headers that eliminated all cats then added one hi-flow cat right before the catback exhaust starts, what problems with the CEL would i have?

how many sensors are in place and where?

thanks guys!

You got the basic layout down, but the sensors are located right before and right after the first cat. The only cat you really have to worry about is the first one. There are no sensors around the second. There are two O2 sensors right before and right after the first cat. If you replace the stock exhaust manifold with a header, you are eliminating the first cat, therefore you are going to throw a CEL. I've got one of AWR's headers and I didn't have a light for the first two weeks or so, but it still came on. The second sensor just wasn't reading what it wanted to since there was no cat in between. What you need to pick up that will eliminate the light is a signal modifier from Pony Express: http://www.ponyexpressperformance.com/mazdamileliminator.html All you have to do is just splice it in and you are good to go.
