quick motor replacement question.

Hi i just bought my P5 from a friend who put a connecting rod through his block so im replacing the motor.

my question is does the protege and protege 5 have the same engine placement and set up? and the car im getting it from is a 01 mine is a 02 is there any difference?

if it is a 2.0 liter fsde motor it will work.

ya i plan on doing that. im super excited to get this car up and running. this will be my second vehicle (just turned 18) i got a jacked up ford Explorer with redone top end and breather tube.

I was looking for a project car and this one jumped into my lane for opportunities.

everything is relatively cheap i plan on putting a turbo on it after i get some more cash. putting a body kit on it new rims. im going for a "bumble bee" look painting the kit black finding a stock spoiler painting it black. the motor thats currently in it has a aftermarket MAF intake, redone interior, new altenator for the amps to my stereo system, and a performance clutch.

Yes, make sure you get a car with the 2.0L engine, not a 1.6L
