first ive been reading around iam iam getting confuzed with many many diffrent stats on products... iam looking for some good realy stats on some of the p5 modifications.

for example with the intake/exhaust cams.. hearing 20 horse increase and 10 horse increase..

iam just wondering with an mazdaspeed exhaust cam and fs-ze intake cam and also the intake/exhaust set up a all around horse power gain is... and will doing intake manifold and headers help?

basicly all i wanna on my p5 in the next period of 2 years i wanna add the intake/exhaust then cams and on to headers and intake manifold?? is that a good order? and what will my final hp be?

thanks alot guys... iam sure this has been asked MANY MANY Times but ive been useing the search method andhave neeb getting various answer so iam looking for some real answer from ppl with experience thanks again
 
just keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers claim all sorts of gained HP so take their advertisements with a grain of salt.

also, more often than not, individual parts do not give great gains in horsepower, nor do the sum of all the claimed hp gains of the parts actually add up to the numbers off the dyno chart. gaining hp off our engines is slow but steady work but keep at it and you will (though not to your imagination's satisfaction, i'm afraid).

start with I/H/E (intake, headers, exhaust) plus midpipes, etc. with hi-flow cats (if you have smog check where you're from). either that or run open pipes.

keep in mind your end goal. do you want to stay N/A and make power without boost? or do you want to go turbo? which one can you realistically afford? which one will you realistically achieve? once you've decided all that, then draw up a game plan that will lead you to that goal.

don't waste your money on a 2.25" exhaust when you're headed for a turbo set up. you'll just end up having to buy a new bigger exhaust later on. stuff like that.

in any case, building up your engine with forged internals is always good, n/a or boost. you can play with the cams and go crazy with the settings.

get an SRI, bigger diametre piping exhausts for turbo.
CAI and 2.25" piping for n/a





etc. etc. sigh. it's 2:30am and i'm damned tired. sorry for the rambling post.
