So, I recently purchased the Pioneer AVIC-D3 for my 2006 Mazda 3i. I enjoy doing work on my car rather than pay to have it done, so I plan on doing the installation myself. I am far from an expert, but I am confident that I can do the installation on my own.
However, I've been reading up on the Pioneer and it seems that you are not able to program in a new destination to the navigation system unless the parking brake is on (much like you are not able to watch DVDs while the car is moving). I have also read that it is possible to by-pass this restriction, but I have not found a detailed enough description on how to do this. I just wanted to know if anyone has done a similar installation and, if so, can you help me install this receiver the way I would like. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
