so would a set of headers for a miata/mx-5 fit on a protege??

I don not believe they are in any way te same engine.
Hit up a miata board to find out for sure.

IIRC same series (BP) but still diffrent motors.

A set of Miata headers would not fit a Protege because our engines are transversly mounted(rwd vs. fwd).

Since im a complete newb i may aswell get a few things straight.... honestly i don't really know what a mp3 or an mp5 is, i just assumed that an mp3 was a pretege...?? And my car (protege) is a 1.8L. They only started bringing out the 2L versions of 323 in Australia last year i think.
Performance parts for my car aren't that common here so the mx-5 idea was just stupid. =\

MP5= Mazda Protege 5
MP3= A performance version of the Protege that came with an MP3 player from the factory. Mazda quit making them in '01...or maybe '00?
MSP=MazdaSpeed Protege. Basically an updated MP3 with a turbo.
...All 3rd gen Proteges.
