So I just finished installing my Prosport electronic boost gauge, and for some reason its not consistent. First off, I'm not reading vacuum at all.....seriously. At idle, and in between shifts, it just drops to zero. And the boost reading doesn't appear consistent; rather it bounces around 10psi (only tried it in 2nd gear though). I've got it tapped into the wastegate for now. I've double checked everything and I don't see any problems. Does the boost filter have to be within a certain distance from the boost sender? Right now, the boost sender is right behind the radio (spliced into the cigarette lighter), and the boost filter is under the hood pretty much right next to the battery. Should I move the filter closer to the sender?

The wastegate pickup has a pill in it to reduce the air volume. The best place to tap is the small hose connected to your BPV. Readily accessible and accurate.
