Forgive me for this question but im not up to par with my car audio knowledge. Anyhow which of these would give me a better set up, JL Audio 12W3v2-D2 or the JL Audio 12W3v2-D4 with the JL Audio 1000/1 amp. I know I want that amp but im not sure which sub I would get the best results from as far as the ohm's are concerned. Thanks for the help guys..

i think the JL amps are regulated to put out the same amount of power at 4 ohm as they do at 2 ohm so it probably doesnt matter

i could be wrong though:)

The less resistance you have (ohms) the more power you can run. You really have to match it up to the amp.

So your sayin that the JL Audio 12W3v2-D2 would be better for me in this case.

if you are only running one 12w3 i would think the 1000/1 is over kill... if you are set on a 1000/1 i would look into a pair of w6, or a w7.... and yes the 1000/1 has the jl system that puts the same power to 2-8ohms.... (i think thats the range??)

yes that would be overkill...but it would be a pair of 12's not just one...

well i looked online a bit and i think im going with the JL Audio 12W6v2<pair of these> with the JL Audio 1000/1 amp...im thinkin i would get a loud enough sound to get my wife mad at me and also get the quality that im looking for.

That is a pair of those btw

you will get enough sound to get the whole neighborhood mad as you

haha even better....since when is it bad to have a few neighbors that dont like you.

Although JL rates there amps as even from 1.5-4 ohms, they really do not work that way. With a dead (non reactive) load like a reistor they do produce power as specified. However, when you hook them up to a speaker that is not a set resistacne as it plays, the JL actualy produce more power at lower impedances. The difference just isn't as dramatic as most amplifiers.

A single 12W3 is a massive waste of a JL 1000/1, a 12w6 is a better choice. I would also suggest 2 8W7s

agreed, this is why im getting 2 12w6's and the 1000/1 amp which i seen you had on sale a lil while back, im kinda upset i missed that sale but oh well.
