I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but ill give it a shot.

Im just turning 19 and i wanna pick up my first car, at the moment im looking at a 2012 Mazdaspeed3. Now i need your advice, i have been checking around online and see alot of hate for the new MS3's. Is this hate justified?

If the MS3 isn't worth it, what new vehicle is? I have a 30-40K limit for a brand new vehicle. A little less for used.

I'm not sure where you're finding this hate, but if it is styling-related, get what you like. It's your car and you are the one driving it and it should be suited to your taste. In terms of value, I think the MS3 is a great value.

BTW - is this an actual "WTB" thread? Are you looking to pick up a used car from a member on this site? If not - I can move this thread to the lounge/welcome area.

Posts some links to the "hate" that you are reading about. I'm sure people who actually have a 2010+ MS3 will chime in and give their first hand impressions, but I've been extremely pleased with my 2008. I've driven a 2011 and enjoyed that similarly.

The hate is mostly in the GENONE to GENPU due to the ugly ass front end and the chickpox interior, I have a GENPU and somewhat agree. But this is preatty much all the HATE is about. It is the same engine, same tranny, same, same, same. The ECU took a little time to crack but now that it has, the PUs are starting to show some good HP/TQ gains with the AP. Aftermarket parts are starting to come thru several vendors instead of just one, so do some more research, make a decision and move forward.

Chickenpox on the dash and trim is gone with the 2012's, but the seats still look silly.

The front end grows on you and its just a matter of time before a bumper comes out. I no autoexe has one but it keep the dumb smile. I also thought about taking my off and having this body shop that can do custom fiber class do something with it.
