- 2002 Mazda Proteg5
So some asshole on the freeway pulled a hit and run on me a few nights ago and I found out my steering rack on the driver's side is pretty bent. Regarding replacing it, I have two questions:
1) I was thinking of going through this site: http://www.partshotlines.com/parts/mazda/protege/steering-rack-and-pinion.html and grabbing a used part, has anyone had any experience with them before?
2) Most of these don't specifiy whether the part is from a Protege5 and instead just have them listed as Protege. Would the steering rack from a Protege work just fine on a P5 or do I have to specifically search for the P5 part?
I'm very strapped for cash and I can't afford a brand new $300+ part so I'm really hoping the above site will work just fine.
