Don't sweat it... either 10w30 or 5w30 will be fine. I bought my MP5 recently... maybe they changed the manual or something...

:)

also depends on where you live. i believe cars sold in the southern US require 10w-30. while up here in Canada (because of the colder climate) requires 5w-30.

this oil thing is very interesting people make claims of 100,000 miles using mobil one.allgood quality oils do the same thing.dont be fooled by marketing hype.regular oil , oil filter and air filter[use factory specs unless you live in dusty areas] changes between 3 and 6 thousand miles is all you need to do.my old honda civic had 240,000 miles on it did not burn any oil but was starting to have wear in other mechanical areas used whatever was on sale from mobil one to castrol to valvoline synthetic to non synthetic some times if i had oil left over from another manufacturer even a different weight would combine them with no problems,i would combine synthetic with non never had any problems.so either honda makes fantastic engines which is true partially and oil changes regularly is also true. or i was lucky....tried the purple oil once car did seem to run with more acceleration initially must have some sost of additive but worth the extra money is up to you, my four banger nissan truck has over 260,000 miles on it ran tuf oil additive almost all the time again a great engine or was it regular oil ect.. changes yeah and i drive them hard anyway i know the great oil debate will always exist i like to keep my cars for a long time at 100,000 a good engine design is just getting broken in. hopefully this mazda engine which is also a geat design will have the same life span

The "Higher Mileage Vehicle" formula was just a marketing ploy by Mobil1. They've since changed it to "Multi-Vehicle" formula because of all the confusion it caused. There's no difference whatsoever.

They also call the 5W-30 "Newer Vehicle" Formula, but again, it's just marketing.

chrisj you are right. MY wally world only has the 5 qt jugs when i dont need it! s*** makes me mad, im gonna stock up you can get 10 qts for what a 6 case costs. damn them.

I posted another thread about Mobil 1, I was reading the Redline Motor Oil website and they said that their test car actually lost Hp from the Mobil 1. Then they used the redline and actually gained about 4 or 5 Hp can this be true?
