Question for the pro's

I have a Profile 600W amp hooked up to a Blaupunkt 12" sub tube. I've triple checked all spots on my power line to make sure they are getting voltage with a multimeter, and when plugged into the amp I am showing 12 volts at the terminal. However the amp power lights are not coming on.

I am wondering if the fuses could be bad without being "blown" or if anyone else has any other ideas. The fuse on my power wire is 50A and connected about 7 inches from the battery terminal so that should be fine.

Thanks for the help!

is the remote wire (should be blue with white stripe) hooked up? it turns the amp on when the stereo comes on..

I dont have an aftermarket cd player so I am using a line output converter. For my remote wire I have it wired in with my glove box light which turns on when the headlights turn on. Figured that would work the same way. Also, is the remote wire necessary for example if I put a piece of speaker wire in the terminal for the remote and just screw it in to complete the circuit would that work?

I am not 100% sure what you are asking, but if you jumper power from the positive terminal to the remote terminal the amp should turn on.
To do this, remove the power wire fuse first, and make sure the other wire, the one to your light is disconnected. Jumper the remote and positive. Then reinstall the fuse. The amp should turn on.

No matter what, do not leave it like that, it will drain your battery.

If the amp will not turn on even after you jumper it, it might be the amp. Fuses are good or bad. You can check them with your meter, using the ohms setting. It should be close to 0.0 (removed from the socket).

I figured it out. My remote line wasn't connected to a line that was getting 12v. I ended up going straight into the fuse box to my ignition fuse that turns on when the key is on the "acc." position.

Thanks all.
