Question for Mazda3/Mazda5 Owners using MazdaSpeed3 front/rear sway bar(s)

:
2008 Mazda5 GT
Did you install the sway bar(s) (26mm) reusing the old bushings/brackets from the PO?
Did you buy new OEM MS3 bushings?
Did you find aftermarket bushings (ES, Moog, something else)?

I have my MS3 bars for a while and have searched a bit off and on for replacement bushings with no success. I can’t find a direct ES or Moog part. I decided to call ES and learned something interesting.

ES (888) 913-6374 : They have not even started working on bushing for MS3! Actually, the guy said something to that tune that he just came across an order for a batch (not sure what that means) for the MS3 but there is ‘NO’ ETA on when it will actually be released, only that it will be in the works. They just released RX8 bushings about 4-6 months ago, after all these years, and the MS3 bushing release date can be next few months or another 2 years... Ultimately, they wait till a particular model car comes off manufacture warrantee (about 4-5 years, makes business sense) before focusing in on it. They are deciding not to provide brackets and plan to release bushings that area a direct fit/replacement to be used with OEM brackets. Not sure if that’s a good thing, I like the idea of a new (perhaps bigger) bracket. The other option is to check their universal catalog and hopefully find something that matches. Strange thing is that their online catalog does not show any 26MM universal bushings but you can clearly Google ES and Moog and they are available… I’m so confused…

I can’t find anything else from anyone else other than universal 26mm but these are a hit or miss without trial and error since it does not publish exact measurements for the OEM bracket; unless it comes with a bracket, will it work.?. Napa can't find anything either..

I came across a post in another forum that Prothane universal work but they seem to be the stiffer of the bunch (not my cup of tea). I suppose they work b/c it comes with its own bracket. http://www.prothanesuspensionparts.c...sp?prod=191142.

For those who did the swap, what did you use?

Have a 2nd gen MS3 rear bar waiting to go onto my 2009 MZ5. If I get a chance to install it this week/weekend (doubt it), I'll take detailed pictures of the installation (was planning to do that anyway) and post them up.
