question about the cobb access port, can I run VTA BOV

These MZR DISI turbo engines run so rich (as previously stated) that I would be more leary about what the long-term, consistently rich conditions are doing to my plugs than trying to get a sweet sound. Just my $0.02.

Well, I wasn't going to buy the AP solely for running a VTA BOV, just more of a question. Right now I don't see the money to HP worthness to buy an AP. I got the turbo inlet, corksport dp, oil catch can, and HKS BOV recirculated. Already had the cobb sri and cobb stage II suspension.

You can find used ones for about $500 on these forums. I have to say that the AP made my car all-around a much better car. My mileage has increased. My overall power gains have been quite substantial. The ability to datalog and track your car's parameters is such an incredible feature. If you've done every other basic bolt-on, I would encourage you to go for ECU Management next. Whether it be Cobb, CPE, whatever, it really wakes up the car.

Note that it probably makes more sense to go with Cobb in your case because of your Cobb mod list. Plus the customer service is great.

buy the ap and an intake. run the stage 1 + SF map and see if you say the same thing.

its well worth it

From what I`ve been reading, if you did little more than take a few days and properly calibrate the MAF table it might still be worth it for the general drivability and responsiveness improvements.
Now that the software is out, I am more convinced than ever that an AP is the first thing you should buy for this car (okay second, the freakin wimpy motor mount has to go).

Just in highway mileage improvements I went from 25 to 28 with the removal of the 2nd catalytic converter and from 28 to 34 with the addition of the AccessPort.

Just by fuel economy improvements alone (ignoring all other benefits) mine will have paid for itself in about 18 months.

I'm not sure exactly the effects of the AP on a MS3's fuel economy, but the platforms are pretty similar. I can't imagine if you had it tuned properly you would get worse mileage.

So I guess you guys almost have me talked into buying an access port. Ive been waiting for the super tune coming out like Vishnu or the JB3 or something, but I guess when someone makes a breakthrough and starts pumping more power out of these that the maps will come available for the access port.

I don't think you'll regret it one bit. Like I said in a previous post, you can probably pick one up on this website for anywhere between $500 and $600 bucks. Good luck!

u can but dont, there is no benifit actually causes more problems than HP recirculation is much better for drivabilty reasons and tuning. never vta on a mafs car!

wondering if someone could possibly help me...I just recently bought an MS6...and i'm wanting to add a lot of "bolt" on performance parts, but through the grapevine I heard you need an Access port to fine tune your ECU, or else your ECU could start reading information sent to it wrong, and eventually through the ECU off causing damage......Now is this really true, cause the damn Access port is 700 dollars
