question about motor mounts?

That sensor is on the throttle body, make sure its tight. Mine slipped out a few weeks back and the car died all the time, pushed in the plug better and problem was solved.

Jack, $115 and you got yourself a deal :)

yea, idk what else it could be....could it be my busted rear motor mount that causes my car to die once its warmed up and standing idle for too long....i need as many opinions as i can get before i commit to buying the piece
lol, send me some pics, por favor

It's not with me but I'll try and get pics sometime this next week and no, a blown motor mount won't make your car die! lol.

HA!

I'm an idiot (obviously):o ... Without checking which way the throttle body gasket was supposed to go on I placed it over the intake, then put the throttle body on. I had it backwards  (braindead). So, BAM! PRESTO! Car started up, then throttled down, engine kept running. I'm happy for now. Still working on what to do on that snapped off bolt, but, things are looking up. (rockon)

Good luck man - I hear your pain. I went to replace my rear mount this weekend, and I got the big center bolt and the first two rear nuts when - wham! The 3rd nut gets rounded off by my socket.

Well, nothing from PB Blaster to trying to pound a 16mm socket on that thing would loosen it, and I needed the car this morning, so I had to bolt everything back up after 6 hours of frustration. Gonna drop it off at the mechanic tomorrow morning and let them have a go at it.

Well, maybe things aren't as great as I had thought... The car is leaking coolant from somewhere. I didn't have time to look this morning, as I slept in because I barely slept the night before. I'm guessing it has to be coming from either the throttle body or one of the hoses that hooks up to the TB. Hopefully it's as simple as I didn't get a line on one of the nipples all the way or forgot to clamp it back down. I don't know where those lines run to or from, so that's going to be fun. I had the car running last night for a few minutes and I looked this morning to see a puddle of coolant on the ground. Damn.

I feel your pain brother... After I *hopefully* get all my idiotic problems fixed, I'm going to have a mechanic do the install on the rear mount, as there's no way I can do it. I'd have rather just sat back and had a few cold ones while watching football yesterday (couch)...

hey man, that's the life of a p5! if it's not one problem, its the other, and once you fix two problems, a third one arises!!!

Yeah, the sad thing is that there really were no problems before I started, lol. That's what I get for working on a car that I am not familiar with yet. Kind of wish that FedEx didn't do Saturday deliveries (rofl). Then I'd have a P5 that was running and driving... Until NEXT weekend! Oh well. I'll have it up and running eventually, it's just a matter of taking my time and figuring out where that #$%*ing coolant leak is.

lol, almost makes me second guess my trading of my previous car for an integra on 18lbs of boost 310whp. fully built motor with wiseco pistons and all -_-

It *almost* makes me question my trade on my 00 Impala LS, because that car was SOOOOOOOO easy to work on... But as any 9 year old car, everything was starting to break and I had been chasing down issues with really low MPGs for almost the entire time I owned it. But oh well. I did get way more than what it was worth on the trade, so whatever.

AWESOME news...

I went and bought a new set of drill bits, as the cheap-o ones that came with the drill had all lost their edge. I guess drilling through grade 8 stainless steel is a bit hard on bits. So, I'm back in business, but I have to figure out how to get enough clearance in there to work my tap and tap wrench. Might bore the hole +1 size bigger just to be safe on the threading, I'll see what I can do with it though. I'm taking the night off since I didn't get to watch any football this weekend, and tonight and the Packers are going to stomp the Viqueens...

I bet local parts stores carry some, though Rockauto.com didn't so no gaurantee.

I know its random, but actually Rock Auto does carry the mounts... You have to search under the ES Protege, and they are shown there. For some reason they arent listed for a P5. I called to ask them, and they said they can only list the parts the way the manufacturers do, and the P5 wasnt an "approved model".

Be careful though - the side mount listed by Beck-Arnley does not include the center piece that is pressed into the mount. I have actually alerted Beck-Arnley to this, and they have pulled the item from their catalog until they can update the design. RockAuto just has yet to update their own catalog.

Well, I found my coolant leak, I tore a hose going to the throttle body. I just bypassed the TB for now, I'll have to get a new hose and take care of that before winter I suppose. Working on re-threading the hole I had to drill out in a few minutes.

Well, I got the hole retapped in the stock size, stock mount is re-installed. I can't figure out how to get that damn SLS mount installed. I don't think the bracket that bolts to the engine is right. I could be wrong, but I just ended up giving up on it, I need my car and don't have the patience to deal with it anymore this week.
