i cant seem to get rid of this damn P0172 code. after 75 miles or so it keeps coming back. my fuel press is at 41-42psi at idle, and in two weeks i havent boosted but 3psi maybe (rarely drive the car much), so max fuel press the car has prolly seen has been like 55psi-ish max (my guess). yet it still is coming back. i have no idea what to make of it.

anyhow, if i get the haltech f10x (which im still not sure if i want to put more money into my car) will that CEL affect the performace or will it override it? im not going to try it without a definate answer, as im not going to blow time and money and end up with the same result i have now.

Have u tired to lower the fuel pressure? The service manual lists the fuel pressure to

be 30-36 psi.

If you get the F10X, it won't fix your problems. To answer your question, the way you install it, that code will be reset everytime you cut the car off. If I remember correctly, that code has to do with your O2 sensors... Were you able to check that vaccum line I was telling you about before?

No, NEVER GIVE UP!! LOL!!! NEVAH!! There's something wrong somewhere, and its just a matter of finding it.

Not sure what to tell you man. Guess I'll have to take a look at it when I'm in the area in about a week and a half or so...

where to in Cali? im in central cali, so if youre going to SPD racing youll be 8 hrs away...but if you come up to monterey you can stay here in my spare room?

Total of 3, and Sapril and my Daughter. We already have hotel arrangements though.. Gotta love priceline.com

Thank you for the extention of hospitallity.

word. do stop by central cali and meet up with me, kpabap, natey, jdrhotrod, maybe steve, etc etc. we can drive to rishies shop and you can drool over brides etc.

let me know. beautiful areas around here and fun mountain driving.

the F10x, as wired up, completely eliminates the stock ECU's control over the fuel injectors. meaning that the ECU will not pull fuel because it simply will not be able to. as Patrick was saying, the ECU's memory wire is cut with the haltech so any check engine light or MIL code is erased if you shut off the car.

does that make the car run lessw well as if you reset the battery? if not, then why not just cut that wire and go on my merry way?

thats interesting --- cut the memory wire and it resets the CEL after shut off (uhm)

Bump for more info :) if the ecu cant remember what it was doing -- then what mode will it want to run in ?? like matt said -- will it run poorly like you just reset it ???

well supposedly it takes a while for the ECU to relearn driving patterns and therefore you will get bad gas milage etc for a while (in my case, until the light comes on again), but i really havent noticed that TOO much.

if the haltech does that though im wondering what the benefit of me doing that would be
